FOR EDUCATORS

The advanced technology sector covers 19 industries including manufacturing, health care, information technology, robotics and biotechnology.  To be a successful employee in advanced technology fields, an individual should possess advanced math, technical and problem-solving skills.

Twenty three percent of current workers in the advanced technology sector are eligible to retire in the next two to five years. In addition, 80 percent of manufacturers in the United States report that they cannot find the skilled employees they need.  Employers will be searching for qualified applicants to hire, which translates into incredible career opportunities for the next generation.

Advanced technology is the economic driver that provides Americans with above average pay, opportunities for advancement and skills that can be utilized across multiple industries. This is your chance to support industries essential to Virginia, boost your local economy, and more importantly, help students find great, high-paying careers they can take pride in.
